The contrast series steps up a gear with this West Coast DIPA. We’ve always been a big fan of Centennial hops and this year we received our first lots of Crosby Hop Farms Centennial and from the minute we opened the first bag for a rub we were blown away. This stuff is like good Centennial on steroids. Bringing notes of caramelised orange and grapefruit slices, boiled citrus sweets, sticky marijuana and even a touch of guava like tropical fruit we felt this hop would be very versatile and fit both West coast and Hazy IPA styles perfectly. Combined with piney, dank and slightly creamy Simcoe and herbal, grapefruit Cascade the hop profile on this one should please the old and new school heads out there. A blend of base malts, a sprinkle of wheat and some dextrose fermented with clean Californian ale strain provide a crisp and dry base allowing all the bitter citrus and piney notes to come to the fore.
